Clanland 05 - Fraser

A rare set of clan paintings from the 1920s by William Stewart, author, scene painter, illustrator and Art Director of the London Press Exchange.

We are delighted to be able to offer a dozen prints from a little-known book called Clanlands that was written and illustrated by William Stewart (born Greenwich 1886) in 1928 for the London Midland & Scottish Railway Company (LMSR).

Stewart's choice of clan subjects corresponds with  some of the routes operated by the LMSR and his idiosyncratic paintings offer a delightfully fresh approach to the subject bearing in mind the rather 'stuffy' establishment  view of Highland dress in the 1920s.

If your clan is amongst this collection, then we urge you to invest in a print - it will certainly be a talking point amongst all who see it!

Available in two sizes - A4 and A3

A4 prints measure 297 x 210mm (approx. 11.5 x 8 inches) and cost £15 plus relevant taxes/post & packing.

A3 prints measure 420 x 297mm (approx. 16.5 x 11.5 inches) and cost £25 plus relevant taxes/post & packing.
